Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a day to honor the Native American contributions, sovereignty, and resilience of Native American people. In 2022, President Biden officially commemorated Indigenous Peoples’ Day, which more than a dozen states and more than 130 cities now recognize in place of Columbus Day.

FPS' ECSE program is seeking Community Friends to join its preschool classrooms. Community Friends are typically developing peers who will join the ECSE classrooms alongside the students with developmental delays or disabilities. Students must be 4 years old by July 31 and pass a developmental screening to be eligible for the program. The program is free of charge for families, but parents must provide transportation. The ECSE sessions are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

We Need Your Input! Fargo Public Schools is involved in a continuous improvement process that involves all stakeholders. FPS parents are invited to participate in an online survey. The results will help us identify our strengths, areas for improvement, and stakeholder attitudes around the topic of climate and culture. You may fill out a survey for each student who attends an FPS school.

Thank you to the local Amazon fulfillment center and Clean the World who partnered to donate 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to FPS elementary schools! Clean the World, a global leader in environmental and social impact solutions, provided the backpacks with supplies and Amazon filled the backpacks and distributed them. The schools will keep the backpacks on hand for students in need.

October is National Bullying Awareness Month, and the community is invited to view impactful virtual film event on October 23 at 5 p.m. You will hear the story of Kyle who becomes the target of online bullying and turns to unhealthy coping and negative thoughts. But he finds hope and strength through support and love from the relationships around him.
Fargo Public Schools will release students two hours early from school on Thursday, October 10. Contact your school for more information regarding early release days and how they will affect your child's schedule.
There will be NO SCHOOL next Friday, October 11 and Monday, October 14 due to the Indigenous Peoples' Day holiday. Classes will resume as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, October 15.

AD-Ventures is a district publication to help families find activities for their children throughout our community. It is published on the first of each month September-May.

Thank you to everyone who donated on Wednesday for Beyond the Books Giving Day! The combined day of giving raised nearly $6,000! These donations will help the FPS Development Foundation and the United Way of Cass-Clay help students.

The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act is a federal law that provides important educational rights and services to Pre-K - grade 12 youth experiencing homelessness. More than 100 FPS students are homeless tis school year.
